Surgery Center

When this office saw a need to provide its patients with an alternative to hospital-based surgery, a painstaking effort was made to meet and exceed the standards to attain Medicare certification and State Licensure as an Ambulatory Surgical Center. What this means for the patient is that elective foot surgery can now be performed in a comfortable, safe and relaxing outpatient setting.

As a board certified physician and surgeon of the foot, our goal is to make your surgical procedure as painless and comfortable as possible. The highest standards are met to decrease the possibility of complications and adverse reactions. Through the use of a comprehensive, quality improvement program, we are constantly raising the level of our standards.

Every effort is made to ensure the complete comfort and safety of the patient and family during the surgical experience. The family member has the option to relax in our warm reception room. Soothing music and current magazines are available. For more complicated cases or the very nervous patient, Dr. Howard maintains full admitting and surgical privileges with St. Joseph's hospital. We are very excited that our surgery center is the first Podiatric specific Ambulatory Surgical Center in the state of Maryland to achieve the Gold Seal of Approval and Accreditation by the Joint Commission for Comprehensive Accreditation for Ambulatory Health Care.

There is ongoing communication between the patient, Dr. Howard, our Registered Nurse, and certified Podiatric Medical Assistants to ensure the total comfort of the patient. A positive and painless experience for the patient is our goal.
