About Dr. Howard Schultheiss

Doctor Howard, as he likes to be called, was born and raised in the borough of Queens in New York City. In high school, he participated in swimming and played the string bass. He played in the "All City Orchestra" at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and was also a state champion swimmer. He received a full scholarship to St. Francis College for his swimming. During that time he also played water polo, and was the team captain of both teams in his senior year.

Doctor Howard graduated with a degree in Chemistry, and decided to pursue post graduate training to become a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. He attended the Temple School of Podiatric Medicine, and did his residency at the Wilmington Veterans Administration where he met his wife Vickie.

Bel Air, Maryland has been the home of his private practice, established in 1991. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, Maryland Podiatric Medical Association, and the Maryland Ambulatory Surgery Association. He is board certified as a Diplomat by the American Board of Lower Extremity Surgery, a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association, and is a member of the Global Wound Bed Advisory Board.

His hobbies include woodworking, metal fabrication, sailing and playing with his dogs and cats. His wife Vickie runs his office and is his surgical assistant. Doctor Howard has stated many times in the words of Groucho Marx, "Behind every successful man is a great woman."
